Heating? I haven't stopped opening the windows yet

Another day, another drive home in warm summer like sunshine with the windows of the car down.

Agreed.

What a soft nation we've become if we're considering putting the heating on in current temps.

Location and topo plays a big part, Here I've had an open fire most evenings late on. Im certainly not planning to light the Arger which runs 6 rads till at least mid-November.

I suspect the heating will be for a couple of hours morning and evening from next week, hard to imagine though its so warm at the moment! It wont go on fully though until into November.

as the storage heaters take two days to warm up and the same to cool down, I shall take my planning for there use with significant cold being forecast for a period of time and not before.  Watch this space (insert tumbleweed here ->)

I'll be moving into a property tomorrow where the heating bills are included in the rent, so as soon as it gets a bit nippy it's going on :p

At uni my top floor room is really warm still (need windows open often) so probably not for a while (Not sure about the rest of the house but I'll keep my room radiator off at least)

Back home in Devon not had it on either, parents will probably put it on if it gets cold enough indoors say the first air frost that usually happens in October or November, or if we get low teens days/windy conditions.

Sunday-Monday will be the first day I'll have it on. 12c forecast here and 20mph winds. What a horrible thought. Will be like a kick in the knackers after the wonderful weather we've had.

Maybe, for me it just means I can finally shut my window, I live opposite a busy road, railway and a river (with alot of ships coming and going), so ambient noise has been the bane of my existence for the last 7 months.

Y'all going even softer than usual. Had the windows and doors open all day yesterday and even the missus, who is very susceptible to 'cold', didn't once complain or even hint at putting the heating on. Why, I've got the back door open right now to let some more of the horrid accumulated summer warmth escape into the morning air.

Have no accumulated summer warmth to let out, this being a modern build house just as it stops any heat leaking out it also stops it getting in.

Had to give in last night. My new room is basically a downstairs extension so I have very little insulation. All bills paid for in my rent though so I gave it little thought :D

I'm still walking up and down, indoors and out, in nothing more than a pair of tracky bottoms. Cold? God I'd be so lucky.

Did you turn on your heating last winter?

Yes! A few posts on a weather forum is a very accurate picture and gives a reliable reflection of an entire nation LOL :)

Honest.

There are different levels of 'softness' apparently. Putting the heating on in early October makes you soft, but complaining about the heat when it has barely cracked 25C makes you an 'ard man, lol.

Nope. Still plenty warm in the house. Normally don't do it until November time.
