does look interesting that , but as most of the time,  I feel it will be just an overcast rainy day here, with a stiff wnw  breeze picking up later  as the low moves over , like a typical autumnal depression, any notable thunderstorms will form in the usual areas if they do

Not getting too excited, learned my lesson over the years from these hyped up situations

Peeing it down here here now and looking at the radar there's plenty more left to come.

Heavy rain on and off and several rumbles of thunder. Hardly any wind though.

Is the track for the low centre now pinned down?

Hearing distant thunder here and the rain is heavy. Feeling warm and muggy.

Looks like a gathering storm over Portsmouth with our name on it :-)

Yes heavy rain here, winds still strong though not quite gale force.Though looking at the pressure chart forecasts, I'm guessing the potentially worst weather will be in northern parts tonight?

Netweather radar shows it West Coast of Wales. (Aberystwyth) Is that a squall line in West Wales, very very unusual looking squall.. in an S shape :/

This whole event has been laughable. I was camping in Suffolk this week and Friday night's wind and rain makes this so called ''Event'' look like child's play.

Why Oh why do these extra tropical storms in summer get so much press and the real big events like the recent thunder storms get hardly a mention in mainstream press.

It seems that as soon as the Mainstream press start to put time into discussing the weather for some forthcoming event, all the weather sites jump on the bandwagon and issue armaggedon forecasts.

Hands up to Netweather though, you guys have been solid throughout this and not once to my knowledge have you given this any more attention than any other previous storms or events, calm and consistent from this site over the past 12 months.

good work NETWEATHER !

Wind is starting to pick up a bit.

I love that people write the event off before it has passed. The main rain goes through then we are in moist, mild and very unstable and windy air. That's the interesting bit.

Rain driving against the windows, not a common noise in early August.

I want the rain to ease and some of the murky cloud to lift so I can get some good pics. Still waiting for some thunder but I'm happy to sit and anticipate :-P

A good hour of steady moderate to heavy rain here so far this morning. Dreadful conditions! Hopefully a lively shower or two can rumble through this afternoon :)
