Plenty of showers heading this way, with earlier stops at Manchester and Stockport first. Not sure about the thunder risk today for here - if we do it'll be a one rumble wonder I think :)

I was very lucky to get some amazing photos of the storm, and then later that night we had a second storm and the lightning was immense...

I was hoping for a bit of luck today, looks unlikely. I'm out of the MO warning zone and estofex put the east as the most favourable area.

I lived on the coast for more than 30 years and never saw a storm like that, jealous I couldn't be there to see it in person doesn't cut it. A storm lovers dream.

A fair few storms now across southern England the liveliest in the Bicester area.

Awesome little storm to the north of Peterborough City. Today looks like it could be quite tasty!

and so I was mindlessly playing away at Elder Scrolls.. when I heard a bin.. being moved... but then I though... that bin.. is going on a long journey 0,o .. so I looked out my window.. and to my East some slightly thundery looking clouds.. then I looked to my West and thought.. hmmm nothing here..

Then I looked to my far North.. and thought Wooow that's dark!!! Then I came to the NW Extra Radar.. and thought Woah!!! A storm day !! :D :D

This quite a surprise... ~ and it's so early in the day !! It must have been a rogue thunder.

Sky to north

Currently stuck under the outflow of a line of active storms to my south, underneath the sheared anvils with moderate rainfall and sporadic elevated lightning and rumbles of thunder.

EDIT: HOLY F****N MOLEY, sorry for the language but we just had a huge positive CG from the anvil, the thunder was incredible and the lightning so bright the whole area lit up like a camera flash going off. I think I've poohed my pants a little

Sure is looking decent for some areas today, particular parts of C/S and SE England later on.

There are showers inbound to my area, but not sure if any of it will be thundery. There is some South of Bristol but that is obviously heading away.

So more than likely I am expecting my area to be where the showers develop rather than get the exciting stuff later..but I'll wait and see.

Storm not completely gone yet - serious rain with some decent hail too. Couple of decent close ish GC strikes. All good!

@Buzzard. Keeps getting lighter and then darker here, looks like the line of storms is back building from what I can see from MK. You may be in for more still.

As soon as I posted that I wouldn't see anything, strikes are detected to my NW...

Edit: Scrap that it has died down again. Definitely looks like a good day for parts of the C/S and SE Quadrant of the country.
