Getting darker to the south and south-west.

Just looked at the radar to see a nice young new cell developing over Nottingham, with another weaker cell out to the west of that. Activity continuing to become more widespread :)

Thundery shower over Cheshire taking a NNW direction, increasing audible thunder here now in the Peaks.

Shower gone east of here, heavy rain only, though it is lightning just south of manchester now. Think that'll be my chance gone, the whole area of instability is a little more east than originally predicted.

So disappointing to be suffering from a case of the NE'lys yet again, just dragging claggy rubbish off the N. Sea.

Perfect Sheffield shield in force.

Long shot but hoping the strong cell out to the east will merge with the little shower to the south and re-ignite.

90% sure I heard a rumble of thunder just now. Annoying people mowing lawns in the distance but it did sound promising. Off to spectate :D

Now 100% sure. It ties in with the dark skies to the west and a recent strike out that way shown on the radar (@ S18)

I understand it is disappointing to see storms miss your location, I am feeling that way so far today, but just a reminder that please can posts about lack of storms be put in the moans and groans section here:

http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/80928-no-storms-hate-storms-post-your-storm-related-moans-and-groans-here/

Or if things are really bad and you are yet to see a storm then maybe here:

http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/80888-the-no-storms-club-july-2014-0nwards/

The day is yet young and plenty more time for storms to develop (hopefully more south and west than currently or I myself may pop into the thread listed 2 places above).

Cell near st Neots looked like it was developing supercell characteristics, definite rotation as I went by on the train.

Lot of thunder seems to be passing to the east of scotland. Just come a bit further west please

Rapid intensification north of Sheffield going into Barnsley. That's where all this thunder is coming from. Looks fun up that way! The thunder is near constant :D

A bit unlucky to miss it here tbh!
