Aw its starting to spit with rain :nonono: . No thunder, no lightning and I thought ' well you'd better flaming stay dry at the least so that I can go to the local pubs beer garden.' But no, it never fails...rain...rain...rain :(. Anyway am going to the pub anyway cause I need to celebrate passing my big bus test yesterday. Couldn't resist getting that in :gathering:

We've got what looks like a big storm cloud passing to my NW, moving N to S. Huge base with 'boiling' structures in it's centre. Well defined edge just clipping my location. No action from it though -maybe someone else might get something?

If people expect every hot spell to end with a bang then you are forever going to being disappointed. It's the summer equivalent of a cold spell ending with no snow.

It happens and will always happen.

A lot of the past great cold and hot spells don't end spectacularly.

I hear CAPE and LI are on a two-for-one deal at the moment.

BOGOF, you're talking rubbish now!

Some very interesting, angry looking skies here all day. Some heavy showers about too. Tomorrow doesn't look like a bad shout for here though.

Yes expected summer and winter when breakdown comes from the NW or N

Are peeps sure nothing is going to happen tomorrow? GFS showing potential for the southeast and east. Reasonable DLS forecast just off the east coast and also a wind convergence over the southeast too. Will temps have dropped enough in this area by then to stabilise things?

Edit: looks like dewpoints are still going to be high teens and probably going to feel humid. Lapse rates steepening throughout the day too. MLCAPE lacking somewhat at the moment. Time to check slp :-)

Met office pressure chart showing the cold front sweeping through from West to East arriving in the east by midday.

I don't check any other threads, has this been discussed elsewhere?

Well we had 5 minutes of thunder lightening and heavy rain in the early hours seems to have cleared the air a little

A normal grey rainy day here, cooler too, which is a relief, I suppose. Shows 52% risk for thunder up my way, however the storm risk data doesn't show this so I will just have to wait and see :nea:

Yellow warning for the South East today for heavy showers and storms:

Some heavy showers over Northern England and parts of Scotland also.

Yes that was my thoughts from last night too. The sbcape shifted more localised to the soitheast on this mornings run. Its cloudy here but the sun did shine through and it definitely still feels hot. Dewpoints still high and will feel humid I think. Met o slp chart shows cold front move over from West to East. Last nights run showed convergence ovet southeast and there was some reasonable dls forecast nearby need to check this mornings run though.

Didn't notice any of that here but may have missed it. There was very heavy rain though but it didn't last that long.

Cooler and fresher today but has been touching 20°C which is not to be sniffed at at around 11am!

Interesting look on the storm potential towards  next week, things look to go rather slack, and looking quite warmish too with the risk of thundery showers, hope this can maintain

Early days but I think there could be storm potential in places for sure
