Dad is on bus to Greenock and just texted me to report flash flooding (in the usual places).

Nice angry storm passed through, just back from vantage point, some great CG bolts, and anvil crawlers. Including one CG rather too much in my location which made me retreat into the car. Fabulous cracking thunder! Certain I saw some bits of updraft, maybe things were rotating or attempting to, and I am convinced I saw a greenish tinge centrally in the cloud - hail? An interesting lowering and menacing cloud are seen in the pics. Now going through video for any lightning views.

2 cells passed here over the last hour, one to the North about 3miles away and a huge cell to the South only half a mile away, lightning was amazing from this one and very loud booming thunder.

We had a good one here about the same time, big strikes and intense rainfall

Pretty active cell just cleared here, not ultra photogenic but plenty of lightning and loud thunder. Once again August proves to be the month for storms here, with Monday's efforts that's 2 storms in 4 days, surpassing anything recent "big" scenarios have attempted to deliver Posted Image

Quite a lively storm passed through earlier this afternoon across Croydon area, here's a quick clip of CG lightning from the storm clearing earlier, excuse the noise of my son in the background.

And a few stills:

London looks surrounded. Been watching it on the cricket. Can't BELIEVE we have missed out again today, bone dry virtually bar a few spots this morning. I can't tell you how many times we've missed out in the last 3 or 4 weeks, since just before that plume we've literally had storms from every direction either die out, avoid us by a few miles either side or fizzle out overhead.

See what you mean by the skies over at lord's. They just went off. Looks almost like armageddon

Thunderstorm 10km to my north. The skies look very nasty and looks like I may get the tail end as it is crossing the Severn Estuary.

Edit: Orrrr maybe not just that tiddly bit too far South. Some heavy rainfall though!
