Some sferics in the far SE across Kent currently and I expect this to continue into the evening with some 500-700J/Kg of CAPE being shown along with enough shear in the upper levels to support a more organised storm should cloud tops get high enough. These storms could become more widespread into the night with most areas to the east of London looking in with the chance of something from these, although most will miss them so don't take this mention as a certainty for any single locality.

Also overnight, towards the early hours, a convergence zone looks to set up between the Wash and London which I think could the focal point of further showery development, maybe thundery once more. Areas such as Cambridge into the northern Home Counties and London itself in with the greatest chance here.

Tomorrow it looks to be the SE corner again that has the best chance of getting anything thundery, although chances appear to be greatest early on in the day. Unfortunately I do not really see a chance for anything outside this area, although the odd rumble in the showers further NW cannot be ruled out I suppose.

Yes. Brief outbreak of torrential rain and sferics - Past Welshpool it'll diminish somewhat. Mod rain showers. Then pep up towards the east and into the Midlands. lol :)

The hevier bit look's as though it will push SE of you x1,but that weeker bit could pep up as you say, once it clears the mountains, interesting little feature,as for here i thought i was going to get some rain from it to water my garden :( ,now i have to water it in the morning.

I can see the lightning from here in the most southern part of Hertfordshire! If only it would come down here!

Excellent video, David. Love it! Storm kicked off early here about an hour ago. But nothing like that. :)

I have never known anything like this !! 90 minutes of CONSTANT Lightning, thunder, hail the size of conkers and I have the whole thing on tape, still recording as I type, the storm is STILL rolling in off the channel.

By far the longest thunder storm I have ever seen, this whole area has been absolutely hammered !!

Have woken up to very angry skies here and lots of thunder. Still dry but seeing lightning on the horizon and it's gone quite dark.
