Bad night for some, just lucky no one died.

That is horrible :( must of been terrifying. Just goes to show how dangerous these beautiful displays are.

Sun just out here, murky typical looking after a stormy cloud, very humid.

Maybe everyone in the west will sing a little quieter about the east having all the storms. Some of you are almost in double figures since Thursday, whereas this region has borne the brunt of an eventless plume. Maybe east was best in the 1980s but unfortunately that is no longer the case and seems unlikely to change.

Signed, Fed Up and Grumpy.

Here in Norwich the sky looks a lot more stable now. Thin whispy cloud and blue sky currently. Nothing bubbling.

Yep, another significant non-event for the true east of the UK :(

Well I was roundly chastised for moaning in the 'we've got all the storms aren't we the lucky ones?' thread, but I was 100% correct in saying we'd get nothing. Looks like that humble pie's gonna be staying in the freezer for a good while yet.

Could be more later and tomorrow lol...enjoy. Had a fairly decent run here, nothing directly overhead plenty of thunder and nice few bolts, flashes and flickers. More rain incoming, bring it on :)

Generally a bit of a let down here. Nothing has beaten that storm back in March. I'm sure it has been great in some areas though.

The 80`s was exceptional here for everything.

Grey and drizzly here :(

All the action looks like it's going further east for the rest of the day.

I had a feeling today would pan out like this, the forcast for multiple widespread thunderstorms sounded too good to be true,

we are not in the eighties anymore ;-)

Looks like Heathrow Airport could be coming under a bit of a backlash at the moment for cancelling flights in bright blue sunshine!

Close to being called a BUST this forecast.

This year has been pretty good so far for me, had a couple of thunderstorms, albeit weak, compared to most people though it's been crap. I just want one good thunderstorm giving lightning and thunder every few seconds, dont think i've ever witnessed one like that.

yes why !!...

i realized it got moved to this thread.

Absolutely nothing so far in Barnsley, any chance that storm heading Northwards will hit me? Thanks.

Thoroughly dismal day here today. Zero sunshine, 100 cloud dross and no heat. Don't think we've topped 20c.typical Cheshire "storm weather" in fact. All a bit soul destroying but hey ho.

So I go into Tesco a coupla hours ago, aware of the darkening wall of cloud to my south. Mindful of this whilst doing my shopping, I could hear thunder maybe half an hour later. So I left the trolley and went outside and stood in the middle of the carpark. Was a mighty fine sight too with regular lightning and constant rumbling. Stood there like a teacake for 10 mins until it became clear that the whole lot was moving away. Looks like Doncaster way got it but I certainly didn't so it doesn't count. When I went back in my trolley and contents had disappeared, only adding to my wrath. To pile on the misery even further, it's now bloody sunny. British weather sucks - big time.

Still no thunderstorm in Leeds - but I knew I wouldn't get one, so I'm not too disappointed. I just have to accept the fact that I have a greater chance of giving birth to the antichrist than seeing a thunderstorm here.
