Still not had any overhead action, very very boring month so far.

So humid recently but nothing kicking off, presumably because there's no sunshine.

Yeah - frustrating when you finally get some thunderstorms and get into the swing of things only for the good old British weather to have a storm-hiatus for a few months. By the time we have the next storm I'll be all out of practice and miss it again. Yawn.

This has been a good summer in the SE if you like continuous dry weather and lots of sunshine, but storm wise, it has been pretty tedious, just two storms all sumer here, both lasting 15 minutes. I remember having regular storms when young, once I was with my parents in Oxford Street and a huge thunderstorm hit. We took shelter in the underground, but it started to flood as rain poured in from the streets above. One storm turned day into night and it was only 4 pm. More recently, 2004 approx, a storm hit whilst I was driving, 20 minutes into the storm and junctions were under water and drivers cut off. The last exceptional storm was 2009 when I had flash flooding and marble sized hail IMBY, since then, storms have been shy to visit, so roll on winter, where the last decent snowfall was December 2010

If august doesn`t deliver anything then I`m stuck here for the first time since I joined here 9 years ago.

September and maybe October are slightly possible for a brief thunderstorm.

This has been an incredibly poor year thunderstorm-wise, with the sole exception of that thunderstorm on July 4. Spring delivered nothing, June and July barely delivered and now August is failing to deliver.

we had 3 consecutive thunder days in that plume at the start of july,  absolutely nothing before that,   and nothing since,

YAWN!!! The weather is so predictable when they forecast storms.. a full day of mid level muck and patchy drizzle! I give up now!!

At least you got something on the 4th!

Even today, all we've had here is about half an hour in total of light PPN.

I`ve made it out of here by the skin of my teeth.

Continuous thunder overall from this storm definitely counts nothing very loud,an unusual thunderstorm but there was a few say 8 louder cracks/rumbles of thunder and 2 big overhead flashes, thunder always more closely S/SE/E which was constant.

Nothing yesterday despite searing heat well into the night. Is it all just going to boringly fade away to cloudy fresh and cool? Probably.

Yep, looks that way. Summer full of disappointment here. Nevermind..my best storm last year was in September anyway....even had a cracker in October a few years back.
