We've definitely had MCS' since then but nothing memorable, certainly nothing really on a par with what we experienced in the 90s.

Last night wasnt even an MCS but had all the features of one - very frequent, intense strobing lightning (in all directions), continuous thunder, gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

That second storm at 5am this morning was perfect for lulling me off to sleep, and to wake up to some amazing pictures taken last night is just the icing on the cake. Must admit I'm a teensy bit jealous! :)

Sunny and baking hot here, barely a cloud in the sky. My thermometer is reading 29 degrees inside, it's easily a few degrees more outside. Fingers crossed for some more fun, though I suspect the organisers of the Lovebox music festival next door are praying they don't get rained out!

Estofex are normally spot on with their forecasts. This give me hope of some massive imports..

They did well for yesterday didn't they.

Guys is there a lightning strike count for this morning? Saw one on this forum earlier but was low res. Need a high res one if possible.

Not just because I'm on the forum, but Netweather is the best! Netweather Extra just for 1 month is £3.50 and I must say I love it!

My net weather subscription runs out in 3 days might get full subscription so I can use NMM data.

Still just 17C here with grey skies and breeze.  Considering putting some trousers on rather than shorts.  Can't believe places are already at 30C whilst up here we are sat in grey gloom.

Afternoon all! Had technically, three thunderstorms last night!!!! One around 1:30AM, the huge one, where literally the sky flashed every second or two, then next one woke me up around 4:30-5AM, only a few strikes but this time seemed directly overhead, very loud thunder. Then at 8AM there was another small storm directly overhead and the thunder was deafening, sounded like a gunshot going off next to my ear. Awesome stuff! Hope there is more! May all those who didn't see storms last night, get some over the next 48 hours!

I've heard 34,000 strikes since last night over the UK. How accurate this is I don't know.Seems like my area, if we get hit, looks to peak in the early hours which involves disrupting my sleeping pattern if I want to see anything. Not sure how much, if anything, will be left IMBY by tomorrow morning. Think it will be a northern and eastern affair mainly during tomorrow daytime. Can't get away to chase tonight due to the missus going out and leaving me with the sprogs so I think I'll have an early night and set my alarm for around midnight.Feels cooler than yesterday for sure here with a cool breeze and little sunshine. Still on the humid side though.

Just watched everything go around me last night.. Some incredible lightning to my east though, which missed me by about 30 or so miles.. Hoping for something a little more overhead or at least so I can hear the thunder tonight.. Checked out the strike chart this morning and I'm the tiny little clear bit in between the strikes, ha,ha..

Well it's 19c and raining in west yorks. No thunder and flash floods expected here. Don't understand why we have a amber alert out.

Surely the Bristol Shield won't be able to hold that out. Can't wait for the 12z's!
