Well this small part of Hampshire must be the only part of the country to have remained storm free - few distant rumbles on Thursday night and that's it - even 10 miles west they said it was the storm of the decade. I'm sure our time will come!!

I share your pain we had distant thunder last night for a while but its just been one big let down bbc weather had something this end for today/afternoon but all gone bit pete tong just cloudy nothingness

Rumbles of thunder and big flashes of lightning over Basildon/ Corringham. It doesn't look like it is moving at all. Might be a big one. No rain as yet.

This storm might turn into a real beast, still rotating but drifting slowly northwards

Come to daddy!!

I think its going more a north-westerly direction.

seems to be heading East !

certainly all the low-mid level cloud is going East

I know the low level stuff doesn't go same direction, but the general "dark" area and lightning producing area seems to be drifting to our East from here very odd

Just cloud and light rain here.

Debating whether I can be bothered to drive down to Chelmsford.

Anybody have a handle on what direction this thing is going? Cloud seems to be moving towards SE direction here.

I'll be honest, I'd quite like something just to clear the air. Could do with it being a bit fresher here.

Tempted too.

Having said that it looks promising. Maybe pushing a little too far to the west, not sure, hard to predict. Think it's our best chance since Thursday night though.

The lighting dose't interest me too much, had a fair bit of that in the distance the last 3 days. More interested in it getting close enough to get some serious loud thunder.

Radar shows it's spread a bit further NW. Looks like a westward movement though unfortunately for me.

I'm not too sure. I think if it continues on it's present course you should see,and hopefully hear, some good activity.

The East Anglian storm is dying out now. Maybe its due to the sea breeze.
