Yeh why not!

Would work out at 10 posts a day for just under 9 years to hit 32000.

BBC forecast just now said that there'll only be a few scattered storms north of London, dry for most

I wonder where is the first lightning strike of the day will be in the UK on the live lightning map?

I'd say Lincolnshire or somewhere around the wash, perhaps further inland around Peterborough or Cambridgeshire. Round these parts it's been cloudy and humid all morning Temp has risen to 22.7'c and the sun is trying to break through the cloud layer. Feels incredibly potent out there still.

I reckon on those cells where Cloud10 is/near.

Some rapid developments on the radar just to the west of Durham City and just to the south of Darlington - not sure at this stage whether it will amount to much - is anyone who has access the 5 min radar able to post a pic of these areas?  (I really need to subscribe again!)

Not much movement on these, must be developing on a convergence zone.

The cell has popped up and in the last 15 mins has continued to build and build quite rapidly while staying what appears to be stationary on the radar currently...

Yup thats what I am seeing bud.  Do you have a map of the convergence zone area and also wind direction etc?  For some reason this laptop won't allow me to open the charts...

Certainly evidence of a convergence zone down the eastern side of the country:

Thanks Nick - hope these cells become beefy and thunderous from a selfish POV :-))

The NMM predicted the convergence zone nicely:

It is forecast to shift east throughout the day, so one would expect shower/storm activity to follow suit:

Decent CAPE and reasonable instability over these parts too, and lasting until dusk:

So being a novice here Nick are the cells that have developed likely to shift west - east then looking at the charts posted there?  Have I looked at these right?

I would say so, yes! These cells have fired up along the convergence zone, so it would make sense for them to follow the movement of it and head towards the coast during the afternoon. There's enough instability and energy remaining in the atmosphere to sustain them.
