Well, I decided to go out and give the bugger a chase :)

Managed to catch the blighter on the other side of the M1 - drove straight into it and it was like a scene from an apocalypse movie!

Pitch black, flashes all around me, big BIG booms of thunder and the rain was amazing..

Drove back a bit as it passed and tried to take a few pics/videos

Was lucky enough to get the following just as I started the video - have slow-mowed the strike as it 'appeared' to hit one of the M1 Motorway signs.

Continued back towards home, stopped off and took a few pics of the back-end of the storm and to contrast, the lovely blue skies that followed it..

The storm heading towards Bristol maybe one to watch. Not overly electrified but that doesn't mean the potential for hail or even a tornado is any less

These new showers in the west are heading more N/NW, rather than NNE of the earlier storms.

The last line of storms fizzled out before reaching hull. Had a great storm earlier, had a shelf cloud like I've never seen before and plenty of lightning. Any idea for the east tonight?

Christ that's real American prairie stuff! Always just a bit better than here. Wouldn't fancy being walloped by one of those hailstones!!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?
