Hi all, I've just left approximately 150k people enjoying a very sweltering Bedford River festival. From the safety of my home I'm looking at that system approaching Bicester and wondering if it will track north, south, die out or smash into all those lovely people! There appears to be a corridor of 1800kj cape and 6.5li so wondering if that will play a part.

What do the experts think? Thanks in advance.

Those cells in mid Wales seem to be on a decent track for us if they can keep going. Chances?

unlikely, those cells seem to be stabilizing as they reach here.

No wonder it's building as it moves away from us a beautiful convergence zone it has to work with.

I'd keep a close eye on it, current tracks takes it past Bicester, Buckingham and MK, if it heads NE it'll move towards Northampton but if it takes a jump to the east like at did 2o minutes ago Bedford looks like being clobbered in a hour or so if it maintains intensity.

Damn. It's gone a fair bit darker here now. Sun poked through for ten minutes half hour ago but there's just not been enough heat.

They are (annoyingly) forming due to the hills and are tracking directly north, unlike the epic stuff to our east that is heading NNE. Think I'm in for a dry and settled evening, althoughWarm and muggy.

Some incredible lightning from the cell just north of Paris. Possible South East clipper?

Incredible that a distance of say twenty miles can have a contrast like it does. I'm sat outside and just put a jumper on! Seriously! temp has really dropped under cloud here. Wonder if it's because we are closer to the Clwydian hills? Stuff always seems to get killed by them when coming up from Wales.

its 17C here now.. feels chilly.. I think weve been undercut by cooler air to be honest, along with persistent cloudcover, the temperatures are being surpressed as far as they can go.

Storm still very active and slowly approaching Buckingham, Cloud tops are huge and am under the shadow being cast from this storm cell, now completely lost the sunshine and it's gone oddly calm and getting darker all the while.  :yahoo:

My view to the SW, can see the showers in Wales. Really warm too.

Great Thunderstorms which passed by earlier on in Warwickshire, even managed to produce stone sized hail, but only very quickly unfortunatley. Rain also flooded roads in under 10 minutes. Hoping for more to come later.
