Wow it's so humid I need a cold front storm

It will pass through as a dry front here in the SE,it will change the atmosphere but an increase in cloud looks to be the frontrunner rather than anything thundery. At its current pace it will move through the capital around 7-8pm.

Going dark already to the south far too early surely.

From looking at the live lightning I think you could be in for a direct hit, It's heading North now rather than NNE.

The cell just south of Swindon has really picked up over the last 10 mins, becoming quite a potent little beast looking at things.

very dark skies to my northwest recently (albeit no thunder or lightning), but here nothing much.. I could see heavy rainfall streaming across the sky to be southwest.. you could literally see it being blown but it must have evaporated here as nothing landed, and it's still dry.

I suspect that's it as the skies to the south here are quite stable.

I can see lightning in 2 directions (Annesley way and Pinxton way) and hear thunder in the distance. This is huge.

Great shot there. Watched that cell grow to the east of my location, ten miles or so away and then move north. Could become severe/sup.

Edit: Just looked at that again, overshooting top??? What do people think, developing supercell?? It looks nice on radar.

Atmosphere has suddenly changed round here. Temperature has risen to 26.5'c and the cloud development is explosive, you can see Cumulus change to Towering Cumulus and then Cumulus Congestus with the naked eye, very impressive to see.

lol I wonder how far this storm will track north??? Any chance of it reaching scotland or the north sea lol. Could be one of the longest tracking storms we have ever followed through the british isles.

Pretty sure yesterday I said the main action would come up through the midlands and go east of the Pennines, not a bad shout :p

Bodes well for me then I guess, lets hope it doesn't die out.

Slight shift to the north west first signs it's hitting the Sheffield shield with a slight weakening.
