It's coming from the West. Lightning is getting more frequent and thunder is getting louder so Paul it should be heading your way soon I reckon.

The storm over here at the moment really is spectacular with almost constant lightening and thunder although the thunder is often obscured by the sound of the heavy.

I was getting up early anyway due to an early drive but didn't even bother with the alarm.

This was much better.

ROFL in my haste I forgot to set focus back to infinite, darn manual mode. Managed to salvage these two however, the first of which was the strike responsible for the brief power outage.

I've seen some decent storms in Florida and the Caribean but this one is up with them, both from amount of lightening and the rain.

Should be an interesting day ahead.

www.bbcnews.com/pleasedontclickonthis

"Engineers are struggling to repair damage to the Essex Storm Shield. The shield is thought to have suffered a major failure Friday morning and may take until Monday to repair".

Hope they hurry up, I can't spend every night looking out of the window.

My alarm didn't wake me up so only just woke up at tail end of MCS2...can't believe it :cray:

HA! What a relief, looking back at the radar most of the activity further east than I could have realistically seen :D back to sleep listening to rain and occasional thunder :D

cloud bases visible here now as the storm's moved through and sun starts to rise, another 30 mins and the heat will once again start to get working on heating the tops. To think some 20mins ago it was pitch-dark with CG spitting out all around me.

I could listen to the sound of thunder all day!

That's one thing I've been short of. Plenty of lightning, virtually no thunder.

Still, can't complain. Some of the best lightning  I've seen.
