Got a feeling something is going to kick off around here fairly soon once more. Keep getting bursts of very heavy convective rainfall. Like someone turning a garden hose on and off.

Nothing firing in east anglia due to the left over clag of the earlier MCS further south east, showing well on IR sat.

Ha ha .... nice one. You do quite well over in Sutton for the storms don't you. Remember watching the big one. Was it last year?? Anyway, viewed from near here and the lightning looked spectacular

Some decent booming thunder and sheet lightning here guys although still slightly to the south of me.No rain as yet.The next hour could be very interesting for us all!!.

I assure you SN, there is absolutely NOTHING happening in the Stoke area lol!

Nowt here either. Went for a quick glimpse out of the window (facing S) but a combination of light pollution and a row of terraced houses across the road is obstructing my view. May turn the living room light off and open the curtains.

Wow just seen a vivid CG off to the west, and the flashes definitely getting more frequent.

Dave, think that cell around west Birmingham may give you a decent light show but it's going WELL east of here unfortunately. If only steering winds could help us out (be more SE'ly).

The cell round Birmingham has died down. Few flashes and thunder...stuck in a soundproofed office, so difficult to tell! Was hoping the storms would come later on this morning....too early, I don't finish until 6am!

It doesn't look like it'll be particularly active for us, as the CAPE isn't there tonight.. supposedly tomorrow afternoon it will be, but as you know, it rarely unfolds around these parts!

just popped in for a quick update....lots of lightning flickering in the distance from several cells, the most active to my south west which is producing audible thunder, that sort of low rumbling growl, the sort of sound the puts the hairs up on the back of neck that something positively evil is coming!

Lots of elevated lightning to my south / southeast. Looks like the new cells south of Eastbourne in the Channel are becoming increasingly electrified. Lovely!

Yep quietened down for now but I expect to see the Gloucester storm come into view soon. Lots popping up now so its going to be one of these classic 90's thunder and lightning on and off all night I think!
