Storm looks to be passing east of me. Impressive lightning! Not sure it won't spread this way so going to go offline. Wish you guys could see this, it is amazing!

Oh my! Thats just put us under a level 2!

Cap has to break first.....and no left over rubbish from the French muck either thank you very much. What is bugging the heck out of me s that I'm dying to get a night time lightning pic but just know I'm going to waste my time fiddling about when I should be firing away - I mean, how the dickens can you practice if you never have anything to practice on?

Direct hit London? Looks like that to me. WOW!! The scene outside is mental pics to follow. Street Lights have all came on.

Forgive me but isn't that because it is getting dark - it is after sunset !

Very muggy and lot of Alto cumulus Castellanus here. So, is central Southern England and up into the Midlands gonna get anything tonight then, or not?

From a amateur point of view seems this just going to be a East England event.

Maybe the few hours kip i had was a waste of time

hopefully not but i dont think anything will happen here tonight like lastnight but can hope.

Jealous if that's it, I can see this thing stretching from Essex to the far south west. It's huge. Going very dark to my south still.

Don't confuse the shield cloud with the active bit - nothing like as big as it looks in IR

Cells forming inland to the NW off main storm perhaps something for midlands if they can form a line of such.

For those who may not have seen it, Nick issued a storm forecast earlier - moderate risk of severe storms.

The lip of the anvil has passed over me now. Amazing looking sky - looking a bit apocalyptic.

I know plenty of people have pointed this out, but to reiterate - the main area of thunderstorm activity is forecast for after midnight and is expected to be considerably more widespread than the storms currently affecting Kent and Sussex. The main area of concern is currently moving up from the Bay of Biscay and crossing Northern France

Like last night there will be more developments and they can be very rapid. I suspect the SE storm will rapidly turn into thundery rain as it has matured now. All eyes to the S over Biscay to see what develops
