First strike near Brighton....

May be Anvil crawlers, have you seen the size of it on satellite pic, that bubbling top has the characteristics of an MCS

Yes a very definate Northerly track, maybe even a slight turn to the NNW? Almost a direct hit in Brighton - Eastbourne. Meanwhile, Im keeping an eye on the BoB developments for my area later

Yep it's moving north now. Londoners beware! :)

I guess it might be an all-nighter after all! Better get out "the beast" (my other, better, camera)!

That French cell is insane!!! Brighton Eastwards should be prepared for some serious action over the next couple of hours. A seperate cell moving Nortwards from over South Biscay looks to be of more interest later on to us poor souls further west. Going to be a memorable night for many

Lightning detectors say otherwise

I should have clarified the western channel (south of Devon). There were a couple strikes near France earlier but nothing recently.

As mentioned the strikes from the monster moving out of France moving more northwards or even NNW. This is when I wish I was back in the SE, even if my uni is not in it's path I could have easily driven into the path of this beast.

Sky here now filled with Alt Cas.

Hi Dave, long time so speak  :)

Yes Ac Cas streaming northwards here now as well. What is especially encouraging for later is the speed at which they're visibly streaming north indicative of a strong upper flow in an increasingly sheared enviroment, great news for tilted, well separated updrafts to form which would result in well organized, long lasting storms

Apologies if any of this has been posted before. Hard to keep up with the forum when its like this! People sat on the beach at Bognor Regis watching the thunderstorms come ashore.

That's sounds promising for us West Midlanders - whatever Wiltshire gets tonight, we're likely to enjoy a bit later given the apparent wind direction.
