The squall line does rather look tornadic, I can see some tails/hooks, pity its not daytime viewing I'm sure there are one or two funnels hiding in the darkness :),

Best lightning ive witnessed for some years. But sadly not a direct hit. I wonder what it is about Bristol. Anyway, I was able to stand outside and watch it all pass by me about 6 miles to my east.

Still witnessing some fantastic forks and hearing the thunder rumble on in the distance.

I want more!

Wow wow wow. Now the elevated storm to my south is one of such intensity that I haven't seen approach for a very long time!

Yeah I always say the same to my family and Mrs they don't believe me when I say there is a shield over Bristol but it's odd how it spilts when it hits Bristol and then peps up again further north, that 2008 storm though was something else.. When we get them they last!

Here hasn't been to bad tonight lightning to my west and east but not over head, I want to hear some proper loud glass shattering thunder I've asked Thor but no luck!!

Continuous thunder to the south now. Lightning every second or so.

Storms have not followed the script, as tonight was supposed to be up the western side

As far East as Brighton has gotten into the action thus far

I am receiving information from a friend in Co.Cork of Lightning strikes but yet none show up on detectors, maybe the UK storms are interfering lol, I'll wait for more info.

Things dying lightning wise SLIGHTLY on the northern edge. Still looking active on the eastern side though. Bodes will for areas like Milton Keynes.

They are definitely not following the predicted track. I am now thinking that my location could be too far west and if I was to drive out I would best heading somewhere to the SE (Coventry/Hinckley) than to the SW (Birmingham).

For me its definitely the shear which has helped this situation! Look at my post from earlier, however things have been shifted east to what was expected...
