Rumbles and lightning seen here in SE24 to my SW (and while I was at Sainsbury's in Dulwich). Sky's getting darker too. And it's now oppressively humid.

I'm in Strood also.  Lots of Thunder in the past half hour.  Seen quite a few bits and pieces of lightening too.  Shame it's not dark yet.  Agree that places further out towards the estuary will be getting the rain.  Bone dry here still although dark clouds building all the time.

Bah Humbug. Watched the towers go up east of here fun for somebody else as per norm. Moved Lightening Ariel's outside but need more action. Sort of latched onto the one towards Spalding but not quiet right but it normal needs 10 strikes per min or more to get a fairly good lock so at 2 it hasn't done badly.

Where are the Kent members? I'm hearing almost constant thunder from over there but no reports?

Maybe because most of east kent is stuck under some north sea crud?

It's just started pelting it down here, with lighting to my north, east and south! Was sure it was tracking ENE.

The Kent thunder heard here is something special. Got my own local storm tracking in, no rain yet, it seems to be purely electrical!!!

I can't quite work out which way it's tracking.  Thought it was going ENE also but it just seems to have gotten stuck now it's expanding more than moving.  Still not raining here.  I'm on the Western side of Strood

Rumbles of thunder and few nearby strikes for the Medway area but it seems the most intense is for the Hoo peninsula (A few miles north of here) which isn't particularly well populated, so there may not be any NW members from that area?

That's a shame, it sounds like a real belter!

Not in the end! Something happened. The storm/precip was nearly clear of my area and was shifting ENE then all of a sudden it tipped it down and had more lightning. Back-building perhaps, as suggested above? One thing I do know is that I have a horrible headache now. Change in pressure I guess?

Storm in Basildon now, mostly electrical and convective rainfall but light to moderate. I might have expected a little more but beggars can't be choosers!

Very dark here with some thunder. Looks like a nice little cell to the south west nr M11. Might have to get in the car.
