Storm and convective discussion 7th July Onwards

Thunder and moderate rain here in Greenhithe.

I can hear that storm from here in Bexleyheath. No lighting or rain yet though.

Something is developing if i look out the front of the house, the cloud 'is thunderstorm grey/blue' so I'm guessing that what it will become. Yep to me storms look different in colour to just a normal shower...no rainy smell outside.

Not a single drop...tower went up right overhead but only heard thunder when it moved towards Dartford/Greenhithe...it is an extremely localised storm. Edited July 12, 2014 by Harry

One strike was VERY close,thunder damm loud....the cats found out scarpering on wood flooring results in no forward motion,legs a blur and going nowhere till grip kicked in.

I can see large cloud tops to both my west, and the east. An interesting new hours ahead!

I can see the Kent storm from here, It's not going to get anywhere near me, I'm hedging my bets on the one developing over Croydon.

A quick update, Plenty of thunder heard to my South, but only Cirrus above Basildon, however a large black mass is approaching from the West. Might be a good show albeit possibly a bit short!!!

Kent storm 7 miles South of Basildon tracking East, hearing some lovely thunder here!

Going by the met radar. The heavy precipiation it tracking just a few(!) miles north from me. Hoo/Cliffe marshes and the peninsula must be getting soaked right now,

Rumbles of thunder and few nearby strikes for the Medway area but it seems the most intense is for the Hoo peninsula (A few miles north of here) which isn't particularly well populated, so there may not be any NW members from that area?
