As usual?

yes..or more specifically, the North East, down the Eastern side of the country looks to see the best chance today with regards to convergence.

A fair few showery clouds about though GFS has majorly downgraded it's Cape from two runs previously (was showing up to 1000j/kj slightly to my east yesterday evening, now only 300-400j/kj)

I get the feeling this may be a day with the most active showers going to my south as they seem to be now, then tomorrow they will go to my north, but we will see.

I've been browsing some charts and things, trying to further my understanding of convection situations, and I've decided to have a little stab at where I think any action will take place today. It's pretty broad so nothing special, and if its completely wrong then nevermind, all part of the learning process:P

Yellow box is a general convective risk, red box is where anything slightly significant may occur.

Feel free to shoot me down:)

Torrential downpours over Carmarthenshire and visible south of here look about ripe..

I give up. Heavy showers with thunder to the S, I was just on that very Sidmouth Esplanade earlier and now it's chucking it down. I am never, ever going to get excited about these days again.

Just think how I feel. Every single one of these so called "thunder days" this year has seen a decent thunderstorm, moving towards Manchester, die out literally 20 miles before me or take a left turn before it gets here.

It's not the same, these showers don't even approach me.

Oh, don't think it's raining here, the radar is also a load of rubbish too.

Can we try and keep toys in prams please folks. I know it can be frustrating missing out on convective fun, but let's keep it mature in here!

I would think thundery activity will likely become more evident in the next couple of hours as we gain more instability from lowering mid-level temperatures spreading in from the west. I have only really started to look now as didn't expect much to happen before mid-afternoon today. It's not a big thunderstorm day though.

That wasn't aimed at me.Anyway, had a very brief moderate shower here with big drops earlier and just heard a very loud rumble of thunder to the NE what looks like on the ATD to be near Honiton.
