cloudless skies here since 6pm, but for last 4 hours seen the convective 'wall' of cloud miles to my east, seems to have not moved

A couple of intense showers to the north. One over Sheffield, the other bigger one near Leeds. No sferics yet.

Been watching the one to the west of me build for the last hour. Now gone very, very dark that way.

It feels very muggy and very 'staticy' at the moment. When this storm bangs, its going to be big.

Those hefty showers just S/SE of Leeds really did come from nowhere...expect skies look pretty mean Doncaster and Barnsley way at the moment.

See my pics further back

It looked good for here earlier but as the rain moved south over south western Hertfordshire it had already died out, not even a droplet of rain.Feeling rather humid tonight, temp of 15.5c with a dew point of 13c!! whoa.

The last few storm days around UK have seemed mainly to track from the North to the South (loosely) isn't it usually the other way around? You know, roughly from the South to the North??

Am I mad to think this?

This is a panoramic of the storm that was approaching me and was already over Norwich. I had positioned myself just to the east of Norwich before Brundall. The panoramic pic is of the approaching storm, you may need to save it to rotate it. I had already been through a short moderate shower with large drops.

Shortly got to the spot where the pic was taken and waited for the storm to get to me. Looking at radar I could see 2 smaller cells converge into 1 larger storm. Quite frequent lightning and thunder heard. No overhead. I did capture some on video. I was there for 10 minutes then the rain started. Notthe heaviest I've seen but it did flood the road where I was pretty quickly and the cars passing on the a47 to Brundall had to brake when they hit it lol. Got video of that too. I decided to move and headed on the bypass back Norwich way and bam an incredible cg directly in front about half a mile away at most. Best one of the storm.

Difficult to see radar when signal was not that great so decided to come back into Norwich after travelling a little way down the Lowestoft road the predicted path of the storm. All in all pretty reasonable. I still need to see rotation this year or a funnel cloud better still. Supercell would be good with a decent gust front or shelf cloud. Im not asking for much :-)
