We all differ, thankfully! Hate those early morning wake up calls, just makes the day so much longer when it is log enough as it is!

Advert on the radio..."The clocks go back next weekend, meaning we get shorter days"

Unbelievable.

It does kind of back up my point though that some genuinely believe that if we kept the clocks at BST, we would magically have more daylight.

Perhaps 'usable daylight' would be more precise?

Another belter, from the Absolute Radio presenter this time..."Clocks go back tonight, so we get darker mornings and earlier nights" :cc_confused::cc_confused::fool::wallbash:

getting dark at 5pm sucks

I would rather have the clocks go back 2 hours and it start getting gloomy at 2pm, but then again I wish we were far enough north to be under the polar night thus averting the threat of any sunlight at all.

We have had an extension built with a new bedroom facing west so no more sun blazing through the room during spring and summer mornings. Should have done it years ago but the missus was against it. I will stay in there and enjoy it, the missus can stay in the other room and suffer :D

The day the clocks go back marks the start of my favourite period of the year. From now until the end of January I can enjoy the very dark evenings, before they start to become noticeably later again.

I quite like the daylight savings. I get to head to the gym in the day light for an extra month or so. Also quite happy with the early dark evenings.

GMT during winter season is balanced, IMO. For GMT, around solstice for my area, sunrises about 8.20am and sets about 3.50pm, keeping to BST it is not balanced, sunrise would be 9.20am and sunsets at 4.50pm.

Yep, I've been hearing people saying "stop messing with the clocks!" - GMT is our "natural" time as solar noon coincides with midday, so let's leave it at that :D

Yes getting light at 06.30 when most people are in bed and for the majority  it is an hour and a half before they get in their cars .It is certainly wasted light at this time of year and from the end of January
