Until it dawns that this is the UK and said BBQ is likely to be held in torrential rain

Not that torrential rain tends to stop people once they've decided to have a BBQ!

Spoilsport! Lol.

Anyway isnt it great british tradition to hold a BBQ with the threat of soggy sausages with lightning bolts dropping in the background, edging closer? Haha.

I hate BBQs with a passion. Moreso the pretentious prats who buy the outside equivalent of an indoor gas cooker and bang on about how good it is with an intense smugness that you'd love to knock off their grinning face :diablo: Can you tell I don't like BBQs

Only the British can spend the year moaning about gas prices then go out and lavish hundreds of pounds on a glorified gas oven on wheels (plus gas bottle) which they're only going to use once or twice a year. Madness.

Absolutely! can't wait for it to be light at 3am then only dark by 10.30pm. oh and that perpetual twilight. . . . .

Do not get it at all. Watching a sunrise is by far the best part of a new day,to wake up to the sunrise and see its glory is so special. What a total waste in the summer, waking up to blazing sunshine does not in any way compensate for the missing this amazing sight.

It's interesting the angle of the ecliptic means that the sunrise time continues to get lighter later even after the winter solstice and the earliest sunset time is actually just before the solstice sometime around Dec 15th. Certainly seems to take mornings a long time to get lighter.

It's the time of year I traditionally say " if the clocks had gone forward it would be -O'clock by now and still light....."

With these warm temps any glimpses of Sun feels very nice on the skin!

Definately becoming more noticeable now..still daylight in the sky after 5.15 and the days of sunrise after 8am are now over. Tomorrow is the first day where daylight lasts for over 9 hours...by the 17th of the month, it's 10 hours. Gaining 4 minutes per day...all good...sooner this rotten joke of a winter is over the better.

Disagree immensely this winter has flown by & it ain't even finished YET. I love to see snow falling in the daylight rather than the darkness, we are still very much in winter.

For many winter still hasn't started...2 air frosts and no snow..12.5c today...daffodils, snowdrops and catkins all too evident. That and the lengthening days...This rotten season is in its final days...not that it has resembled winter at any time.

A loud good riddance will greet the ending of this dire wretched season.

Sun is noticeably higher in the sky now and it actually felt pretty warm in my car when I got in it this afternoon. Spring is most definitely just around the corner.
