Well it's been a month since the solstice, so the change in day length will now pick up some pace. A full two hours will be knocked off in August.

Yes rounding the crest of the peak now before the freefall begins. The swifts leave in 2-3 weeks as do the post 9pm sunsets - always a sad time knowing how long it'll be till they grace us again. Just wish I could slow the season down a bit! Although maybe not as that'd extend the dark part likewise.. which already feels unending as it stands!

Sunrise today is 5:24am, while sunset is at 8:44pm. In just six days time the day length will become sub 15 hours here in Chelmsford.

Sun noticeably lower in the sky earlier in the evenings now.

I'll never wish any season/month away, but I've got a taste for those mellow September/October days, when it's still warm but the trees are turning and the sun is less intense and lower in the sky at all times of the day.

Still very much enjoying the long days and the ability to do outdoor things after work. The shorter days are so restrictive. Gladly another month before the evenings start getting too short to do much in them.

Nights have really dropped now and it was getting dark around 8 pm this evening. Big change from mid June and the perpetual twilight we get up here.

Summer as a whole has been a real stinker this year and we're really rapidly running out of time. Just over three weeks until Autumn.

Hopefully, this winter wont be another mild and wet one.

Summer hasn't finished yet. August can easily produce the best foods of the summer. September is usually warmer than June and not far of August at times. Just shorter day lengths. Winter is miles

Off yet.
