Clocks go forward in five weeks.

Five weeks ago the date was 18th Jan - seems weird to think that in another five it'll be getting dark at 7:30pm. :D

Was pretty much daylight coming into work this morning at 7am! This is why I am so opposed to having BST through winter, the depressing dark mornings would drag on for another few weeks.

The sun is now waking me up before my alarm. This is always one of the first signs of Spring coming to me.

the clocks could easily go forward in the first week of march as it would be getting light at around 8am even in western scotland which isn't really that late, personally i wouldn't mind if we went to BST in early March but i hope the clocks always go back to GMT at the end of October cos i like it getting dark at 4pm in December

I think that's the only really really needed change - get back on BST in early March. Would save so much electricity!

It is frustrating that we have to wait until the end of the month to change the clocks, much more useful to have the extra light on the evenings.

Just thought I'd overslept because it is so light, thought clock said 7.40 not 6.40....

Me too. Got woken up by the sunlight, freaked out because i thought I must have missed my alarm because it can't possibly be that bright outside at 8am, looked at my phone to see it was only 7.30am. Then I couldn't get back to sleep.

If you take true darkness, that's the period of time when astronomical twilight ends to when astronomical twilight begins the next day, even around the winter solstice, it is only around 12 hours in Manchester

True darkness tonight is only about 9 hours and 15 minutes.

By month's end, it's about 7 hours.

The lingering twilight season is getting closer, in Lerwick, it begins after middle of next month!

It's definitely more noticeable in the mornings, it seemed to get really light suddenly. But it is so lovely not to have to go to work and come home in the dark anymore. It won't be long really until you can start to enjoy an evening outside now. See I don't mind winter, but only if it's going to do it properly with lots of snow, some wet and windy storms, not this rubbish dull, grey nonsense we've had the last two years.

First time i've noticed it this morning (although haven't needed to be up at 5:30 for a couple of weeks so may well have started happening before today) but can see daylight just starting to brew in the sky at 5:30 now

Sunset reaches 18:00 for the first time tomorrow (my birthday!) here in Bagshot. It's great driving to and from work now in the daylight, makes a big difference.

It is lovely to see the days lengthening, I love cold and snow(in reasonable measure) but spring is a lovely time to enjoy on a day like today.

This morning at 5:30 it was very noticeable how light it was starting to get (yesterday was hindered by cloud so couldn't really see it) but could today

How rare is that for the eclipse to fall on one of the equinoxes/solstices. :D
