Astronomical twilight ends juts after 7pm for Manchester.

Not long off now the start of the lingering twilight season.

Nautical Twilight started just after 06:20 this morning in Darlington when I looked out at 06:45 the sky was starting to lighten up, when I look out at that time on the 28th the sun will be 14 minutes away from rising!

Conspicuous that there is still some light now despite the cloud and mistiness.

Yep, the evening dog walk has already moved from 4 to 5pm. There was even some glimmers of light at 6pm here this evening despite all the cloud. Love it when I can walk the dog at 8 or 9 in the evening - great chases to be had in the fields around that time.

I've always loved the coziness of the dark evenings and mornings all snuggled up, so at least with the light returning so will the heat and hopefully this summer will prove to be great one for thunder.

Amazing how quickly the nights have shortened now. Well into nearly 17.30 before the last of the light went. Currently at 17.43 it's still not completely dark.

A sunny day today and for the first time this year I finished work and it wasn't quite dark yet! Definitely feeling the weight of winter lifting now.

Saw car with no lights on at 7.59am today first sub 8am. Best this month was 8.23am on the way to work  (leave 7.30 arrive 8.45am)

Increasingly noticeable by 6:00pm it was not pitch black, tide has turned.

Increasingly strong sun too , today the first time this year I've felt the need to wear sunglasses !!!.

For the first time in a few months, you can feel the warmth of the sun through a window again. I would really love to see a proper snow event before the winter is out, but I do always forget how much better the sun makes me feel when it comes out of hiding again.

First day when we get just over 10 hours of daylight this year is on Thursday for me

Seems to last longer on the otherside (time manipulation with the clocks) plus it is eighteen weeks back from that point so still good.

Final day for me today when the daylight is under 10 hours (9hr 57min today) until October 24th

Went down south yesterday and twilight visible at Grantham at 06.00 yet going to Scotland today and it was very dark at 06.45 although it was cloudy!!

Can tell length of daylight is increasing just by the length of the daytime time-lapses I have been taking. They have been gradually getting longer.

The nights are getting shorter

Too light for stargazing until nearly 7 last night, and getting light at 6 this morning. Nice to see the back of the pre-5pm darkness.
