Nope, but I didn't check for that long.

I completely forgot to be honest. Will have to check tonight - looks to be clear.

Current mainland differences are John O'Groats sunset at 21.06 and Exeter sunset at 20.39, here in Manchester we're losing 4 minutes of daylight everyday right up to the Equinox when the loss of daylight tends to level-out again up to winter solstice.

Sept/Oct for me tends to be the more interesting months weather-wise due to the autumnal 'explosion' in colors and the increased chance of severe gales due to ex-TS systems making their way close to our shores. Katia being the more notable of these back in 2011.

Because of my geographical position with regard to time zones..mornings have a bias towards late sunrises and evening to late sunsets..at the moment the sun rise at 06.20 but sets at 21.06..so have dark mornings and light evenings.

As humans we will always get bored of the weather near the end of each season. At the start of this summer (when it got warmer) we were pleased with not having to use heating and not having to wear lots of layers, but know we are on the more miserable side of summer we are anticipating the cold seasons that will give us a fresher crisper atmosphere and make us feel cozy at home. These possessives will soon be overlooked though when your fingers feel like they are falling of and the dreaded commutes come along.

But still we will never get bored of the changing seasons.

This is certainly true for me.

At the end of March I could not wait for warmer weather!

By the end of last month, after having struggled to sleep due to the heat for two weeks the end of March seemed blissful again!

:)

Definitely by late Jan I'm sick to death of winter. The increase in light is frustratingly slow... then comes Feb & March where temperatures are frustratingly slow in rising.

Of course going the other way you're dragging me kicking and screaming! Although by October that first chill is nice before the reality of the grim new situation becomes embedded by November...

Personally I love the sun. In summer I have a bias towards the sunset being late because I enjoy sitting outside however in all other seasons I'd prefer early light because you can't sit out to enjoy the sun when its less than 10C.

As for the seasonal point I just love looking ahead. Its often said that I can tell you what it will do next week but not tomorrow as outside winter I tend to look forward.

Comfy in my office even with windows open (23c) as it always stays warm in here until it goes properly cold out.

Home a different story of course. <19c this morning now just over 20c and falling. Hopefully doing dinner will warm it a little as I'm loathed to have to put the fire on yet!

Not really that noticeable in terms of the height on the sun in the sky yet though- we haven't even passed the mid point of August yet! Still plenty of time for hot weather to come.

Can easily burn in both April & August! March & Sept much less so.

It was definitely later than 5.05 here this morning.

Those times must be high tides. :)

The nights drawing in is probably a good thing for astronomers watching the Perseids Meteor shower, so they can see the meteors easier earlier in the evening.

I used to do the very same thing! Well, when I used to have a horizon I could actually see anyway...
