Lovely thunder and lightning here for the past 30 minutes. First storm of the weekend!

Judging by the speed and trajectory of the storm, I estimate it should reach West London between 5:30-6:30 pm this evening.

evening all im in whaplode not far from spalding in south of lincolnshire skys getting darker her few rumbles but nothing else as yet. fingers crossed we get something. are these storm actually moving tho

Last of the rumbles stopped about 20 mins ago. Pretty much been rumbling from 2pm, storm passed over at about 3.30pm for a good 45 minutes and rumbling gradually faded away. Still lightly raining.

The storm has cleared now, a few patches of blue sky appearing now. That's it until Friday.............

So I decide to go cycling in what was, at the time, pretty clear skies. I get to Grafham and its a bit grey in the distance. I hear a few rumbles as I cycle through Perry and pedal on. I get to the bike shop as it starts to rain a bit then BOOOM!!! We look around the back of the shop towards Brampton and a sneaky line of storms appear. It chucks it down making the A1 a river. Luckily for me, my neighbour picks me up in his work van so I dont have to cycle through a downpour...

Evening all.

Low rumbles of thunder coming from the north west for the last 2 hours with only a sprinkle of huge rain drops. Until now. It's almost as if a celestial tap has been turned on.

And off again.

Yeah sorry meant not expecting any ... I remember many big storms there as a kid ones that set car alarms off lol

Actually feels quite cool out there. BBC says more storms for 7&8pm., but I'm sceptical.

Quite possibly... The heaviest rain is just to my East at the moment, but I've seen some flashes out that way.

Looking at the lightning radar, the strikes are very scattered.
