Gonna be one sultry night again, still muggy as hell and looking at the radar no rain or storms this neck of the woods to freshen things up a bit :-(. I thought were supposed to have great li and cape today (not forgetting the level 2 warning) .....am I missing something or are things going to spark off later tonight?

As I thought everything was shoved east so the storms will just go into the north sea.

Just got back from Camber and although saw some Cloud to Sea lightning in the Channel and a few strikes on land it was a bit disappointing tbh.

Think I was spoiled last night . Looks a bit quiet now although quite heavy rain and an occasional flash in Ashford,

No storms today! Sunny hot day, then it clouded over in the evening and has remained cloudy ever since!  23.1c Dark clouds to my NE, orange clouds to the east!

Just seen two big cloud-cloud flashes to my SE but nothing registering on the strike map. Does lightning have to hit the ground to register?

Not as far as I'm aware.

Strange clouds to our west a few minutes ago - tip of the MCS appears to be getting closer.

Cloud-Cloud lightning is not always as easily picked up by radar as Cloud-Ground is.

Just been for a walk with the dog. Still very humid and a few spots of rain. Sky clear apart from a few clouds. Could do with another event like last night to try and clear the air.

Look at that Storm staying active as it heads in to North Sea. What is it with the track of these storms that they head up through France, Belgium, but refuse to jump the Channel that well.

Oh how wrong they were, does anyone have the actual radar from that time?

Anyone getting any action tonight?

heard a few rumbles earlier when out in the garden at my parents place, could hear more noise coming from the bug-jam party nearby though.

Sometimes they don't need to. Some are home made - just seen an almighty flash off Dunwich on the radar. Maybe we'll get some home cooking tonight.
