Can anyone tell me the possibility of that massive storm hitting me? I'm off out soon and really don't want to get caught in it caught in it on my way home :(

There is nothing in the Channel with Worthings name on it at the moment.

You should be fine

Not even a hint of a storm these past two days in west London, very disappointing considering all the forecasts. Can't really complain after the show on Thursday night but I couldn't fully enjoy that one as I had to be up early for work

On the plus side the lack of storms means we've had a great couple of days with plenty of sunshine and heat, 28C today

On the lightning detection and count sites look at it in France then compared to UK.

Where did you find that to compare?. Be great to look at the strikes for the same cell in France and later in Kent? Thanks

Well... i'll certainly be watching the storm activity in the channel very closely. Don't know what some peeps are going on about on here but i think s/e are in the firing line this evening. ;)

Just looked at the archive and looks red on either side of the Channel for that cell. Can't seem to count strikes for an individual MCS on both sides of the Channel

Have to agree though it's very rare to have that intensity last over the Chanel. I'd imagine that normally as the water is cooler it loses it's source of energy.

This other cell is fairing much better as it leaves the French coast. Seems to be heading in the Hastings/Folkestone direction....may be out again in an hour. Bring it on !!

Surely not twice in 2 evenings !!!

The cells are disintegrating as soon as they hit the water, look at the most westerly one, rain rate goes from over 250mm/hr to barely 30mm/hr in the space of an hour

But wont it intensify again when it comes inland on our little island?

An unforgettable day here, perfect summer weather, hot and sunny with a pleasant breeze. My acre + of garden looks fantastic especially after that nice drop of rain this morning, nothing's been trashed or damage, haven't had to worry about looking at the radar or anything because the air here is as stable as a North Sea oil platfom :D Been laying paving and working in the veg garden whilst the other poor saps have been stuck indoors because it's been raining :D
