Went very still here with lighting in the distant and a few close rumbles. Had a burst of heavy rain and now all is still and quiet again. Current temperature 24.5c.

Are we still expecting more into the early hours?

Still raining here, the thunder is long gone. Absolutely shattered to be honest.

Here is the GFS for tomorrow.

Lots of in cloud action and nothing with the wow factor like last night in the storm that just passed. Just a little rain too.

I am impressed with the lightning camera app, saved me setting up my proper camera. See pics below, not exciting, but captured.

I hope the storms in France don't get here until tomorrow awake hours (I want some sleep).

Looks like the bit I was hoping to hit Norfolk is dying out.

Well if that's it then that is very disappointing. Was led to believe it would be quite a violent storm.

Had a few flashes of lighting and very distant and quiet thunder and that was it. Hopefully it's not over.

Surely that can't be it? If it is then that was very disappointing.

Looking at the charts there's a lot of lighting to the south of us so we still have hope but it's not been a good start.

A lot of it passed to the West of us. I'm sure later in the night we'll see more activity, not sure if it'll be as violent as last night though.

Had about 2 hours of constant lightning from all directions (East Kent) after that amazing front roll and gust! moments of torrential rain but not enought to worry about flooding.. calmed down a bit now with just some distant flashes both to the NW over London way and NE over the Channel/North Sea/Holland. Impressive storm but expected a greater frequency of lightning from seeing the sattelite images of that cloud just BUILDING! Still beggars can't be choosers, good storm. Roll on the next bit.. guess we expect it to arrive early hours between about 2-4?

My Black Labrador lightning/t-storm detector has gone onto red alert. Trying to climb into the corner behind our router and the light came crashing down. I've already shut the bathroom door as his other party trick is climbing into the bath.

Some wonderfully refreshing updraft of a breeze has sprung up… looking hopeful.

My Australian Shepherd StrikeAlert is still snoring his head off on the sofa!

Brief shower and rumblings..a small elevated thunderstorm popped up in the channel opposite where we are about 15 minutes ago...and it's getting warmer....

Yes the threat of more storms remain, cape values are high and other variables bode well for storms. Nowcasting to be honest, just check the radar it should give you a good indication in what is to come.

I'm abandoning forum, can't see anything happening overnight, perhaps some distant lightning in the west but not worth getting up for (I am definitely not that desperate!) Maybe tomorrow, who knows? Would have loved to have seen a decent lightning display at night but alas, those are but a distant childhood memory!

Meh, judging by the radar pictures going to be some storms/rain reaching the south coast around about 2,3.. lots going on between Bristol and Bournemouth atm! cant see much going on north of Sheffield though.

We had a decent storm here lasting a good hour when it was directly overhead - mix of cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground strikes - wasn't expecting anything until the small hours. Anything is possible. The early MCS import from France has died a death, which is a good thing for those disappointed further east. Lots of homegrown activity cropping up now.
