Wet, rain, drizzle, damp about sums it up here, along with dull and overcast, not cool though, should make today interesting (and muddy).

Overnight was absolutely baking hot - seems to have cooled down, more of a fresh breeze today.

21.7c breezy, the rain has cleared though!

No, you spoke too soon. It's tipping down here but it was dry whilst I was out which I'm grateful for. Might even have a watering can full in my water butt now. It's been empty for weeks.

A big THANK YOU JP, you've just given me my excuse not to go to a boot fair tomorrow with a friend at some daft early hour when I, and normal people, should be asleep, especially on Sundays. She doesn't like going if it's wet :)

Had some drizzly showers whilst watching the floats go past at the Saffron Walden carnival. Great to see the various local charities and various groups of all shapes and sizes contributing in their own way with many stunning floats. It was a really fun day.

Major zzzz in here. Such a shame. Thanks JP for the update

Isn't it just.

it does seem that way these days, such a shame to the past when we used to rack up pages a day to just a few posts a day now.

A warm day had here, after a damp start it improved no end, this evening is a tad warm and will be off to bed soon to try and sleep in this mild and humidness (oh ya cannot wait).

I guess you will have to wait for a possible snowfall several months ahead Jax. :hi:

I suspect many of us share your sadness and frustration, and speaking for myself this is why I am rarely posting these days, as the forum I joined, full of energy and life, is no more; winter weather may tempt me back. Perhaps all this is just another sign of the super-efficient times we now live in.

Anyway, high bright cloud in Sandbanks this morning, the seagulls woke me up at 4am with their dawn chorus. Yesterday was windy along the beach and the sand somewhat cold underfoot; the chain ferry rocked from side to side on choppy water as we did a twilight crossing, with many fisherman dotted along the beach and on the rocky breakwaters.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
