The ambiguity of your post meant I thought you may have been talking about rain!  Apologies.

doing some baking and whilst looking out the kitchen window I noted that the trees seem more mobile in the growing breeze, not much though and just light rain here for now.

would add that the autumnal feel that was suggested is not the case, still feeling mild for now, that may change later but to me it seems quite mild now so any fall in temps would still remain about avg for the time of year in my view.

Yes. Patio doors and windows still open here. the wind seems to be picking up a bit - enough to move the curtains.

Slightly disappointed with that, the cape forecast were well founded hence the thunder and lightning, but the conditions just didn't align themselves up for a more substantial event. Still another storm to add to the tally chart. Well up on last year anyway :)

Looks like more showers will follow through later this afternoon and the centre of the low pushes north east.

I was also going to say that the wind is a bit more gusty now. My understanding is that as the rain clears the wind will strengthen in some areas this afternoon and into the evening. Is that right?

That's as I understand it Loops, but it's a lot less windy now than it was earlier. BBC also currently putting storms for later in the afternoon?

The sun is out, according the radar - it may not last for long. Potent stuff moving eastwards Swindon way.

Sun is out here with quite a lot of blue sky, there is a strong SW wind and it feels warm and humid.

Just read on the internet that Morrison's in Sutton road Maidstone has closed because the roof collapsed under the volume of rain that fell in a short time in Maidstone this morning.
