Third heavy shower of the afternoon just gone over; the first two had some 'sferics, but not a great deal. Presumably that all went to the south-east of me.

Nothing at all here today, though it started off feeling a bit muggy. Mostly sunny and a high of 26c; still currently 24.2c as no rain to cool it down. The usual far south-east miss. Talking of misses, a week ago I went up to Chelmsford for the beer festival and got a couple of lightning flashes and rumbles - back home there was a spectacular storm with the inland version of the Camber Sands video shown on here. Saturday night, when I was back in East Sussex, Chelmsford had great storms again. Just call me Jonah....

30+ here in Sal, Cape Verde.

Overcast, but I'm burnt. Had a rum and vodka based drinks before mid day, then onto beer and wine this alvo.

Nice to enjoy the heat without being suited and booted in an office. Hope things well back home.

All clouded over after another glorious day.

It's what I call perfect summer weather, hot sunshine with a decent breeze to take away any stickiness or humidity. I'm really nasty because it's probably going to rain most of the w/e, but I'm retired so can enjoy the sunshine all week. Ho ho.

Just picked 3lbs of Czar plums which will be bottled to enjoy one dismal day in December.

No rain of note since the storm around 1pm here. Feel very muggy and humid though with pretty much 100% cloud cover.

Sun has come out now the weather gods are being good to me tonight

Good for you. Enjoy the BBQ :-)

Survived the week in the orifice and dragged my sorry butt to the weekend at last, whilst a nice and sunny week, the heat and poor amounts of sleep have taken their toll on me, will be nice to not have to worry about the alarm going off in the small hours for the next two days.

A quick (and it was quick) trip into town, got some reddies out at El Banko, paid a few bills and then a stroll to the next village to see the parents, still very hot and humid out, only a slight breeze this evening so it feels more close than the last couple of evenings did, some cloud has moved in but not enough to make the sun any less than a clear evening sky would do.

Was asked about popping to the club for a pint but declined on account of being too knackered.

so again like today these showers look to be triggered by heat and unstable air

some will be lucky and some will not

watch the radar from after mid day

i will update sunday tomorrow

TBH here we could use some rain after the last nigh on two weeks of baking sun and heat, if nothing to settle the dust and cool the air a tad.

Was good to get fresh straw in off the fields last night for the geese and chickens though, the fields had been baled already, we just picked up what will now be ploughed in.

note the trough before the cold front

that will cross overnight and could give some heavy rain

sunday

Chickens and Geese for you as promised (from the family flocks)

This years chickens (there are another lot yet to come into the flock, still growing so in the safe run right now)

The Geese, the parents and this years brood, all born here.

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
