got quite excited in the last half hour..  Standing under the porch with camera in hand (on video) eagerly waiting for that perfect shot of lightning hitting a tree or something... all looking good on the radar & heading for us then as the storm got closer, a light rain shower!  ...not a sausage, a rumble or big clack , just wet and cold )-:

Oh well so much for living on a hill - maybe next time?

Good fun this weather, u never know exactly where and when it will happen as you expect it (-;

edit: even with all the tech/radar and info available :wallbash:

just had a "light" shower here, that was the closest we got to "light" anything in that passing moment, sun is showing it's hand again now, but still plenty of dark brooding clouds lurking about.

Just having  a moderate shower, gone quite dark, but the worst is missing me again i think. Thought I heard a few claps but I think that was wishful thinking.

There are heavier ones just to the north of the Buzzard!

Have to say the cell that went up near London bridge station looked absolutely stunning. I wasn't able to take any pictures. Honestly to my untrained eye it really did look tornadic.

Turning out to be a stonking summer of storms

The second thundery shower of the afternoon has just skirted somewhere nearby. Not much in the way of rain here.

Fair to say that I got the bums luck on storms again. Just a couple of light showers which have now pretty much become persistent light rain. 20C the high.

Is it me but does the rain seem to be doing a U shape? Coming from the NW moving SE and then curving back up towards the NE?

fax tomorrow

Posted Image

a weak northerly flow veering north west later

barring the odd shower in the morning it should stay mainly dry

around lunchtime on showers are likely to break out more to the south east and south of london

these again in the afternoon could be heavy and thundery

later in the day a chance of a few heavier showers in the north of the region

should die down before it gets dark

temps around 19-22

feeling a shade humid again later in the day

Any advice please. On the Norfolk broads from tomorrow for a week, should I take some warm clothes and winter coats? Looking chilly. Am I right thinking as it's a NW wind Norfolk will be more sheltered? Or is that wishful thinking. Please tell me there will be some reasonable days next week.

heres a brief look at what the fax charts say at present

saturday

Posted Image

a chilly but not strong north west wind

looks to stay dry with long sunny spells

a chance the far north of our region may get a late pm shower but its only a slight risk

temps

Posted Image

around 19-21 degrees

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

after a wet saturday night

sunday

Posted Image

quite a strong and noticeable north west wind which will make it feel chilly

should see some sun

however this is the problem

you can see the cold front to our south

this may keep the very far south of the region wet am and showery cloudy drizzly stuff most of the day

the north of london at present looks to be dry most of the day after the very early showers pass through

if the front comes through a shade earlier it might actually end up a reasonable day for all

think i will update this tomorrow night

Posted Image

temps around 17-19 degrees

not got the others yet

will update them if not too late

john :good:

monday

Posted Image

a chilly northerly flow

weak all areas except the far east of our region which may become quite gusty

will feel chilly with temps 16-19 degrees and the east feeling even cooler in the wind

it looks mainly dry but a chance of some light showers to our far west and south west of our region
