Radar showing that there should be heavy rain coming through, but had nothing but light showers/spitting for the last hour or so.

Direct hit for SE London (Greenwich) 30min back. Continuous lightning CG all around and gunshot thunder. Local roads flooding. Great fun stuff except I was stuck out in it and a little damp now :0)

Guess who was riding down the A2 then the South circular when it hit... Yes, I'm wet.

biblical rain in Tunbridge Wells now! CRAZY!

Ditto where I am staying in Wadhurst. Now sunny but more storms lined up in the distance.

Seems like all the good stuff gets right to my doorstep and then vanishes!  But since it isn't snow and it's thunder, I'm not too hacked off! If it was snow then :bomb::wallbash::aggressive::angry:  But a decent storm would be nice too!

Big storm 20 minutes ago when I drove through near to Maldon, saw the storm some distance off - with Mama cloud formation at the front followed by constant CG lightning (some very close as I drove) and roads which became flooded very quickly. Quite impressive! lasted about 15 minutes.

Looking at radar, listening to thunder every 30 secs.. I reckon we've got about 10 mins till a band heading east hits us..camera at the ready computer about to be turned off just in case :bomb:  :drinks:

I see that band on the radar, a bit of purple mixed in there too!

Some early rain here this morning but short lived and dry since, looking at the radar that may change soon, even if only a short lived shower mind.

This passed through a short while ago, angry storm and thought it might do something interesting ie. try for a funnel but no. Some very good CG and anvil crawlers though.

Pretty active cell just cleared here, not ultra photogenic but plenty of lightning and loud thunder. Once again August proves to be the month for storms here, with Monday's efforts surpassing anything recent "big" scenarios have attempted to deliver :D

Seems to be dying out on the radar in terms of chances for later.

Still plenty of time! You wouldn't want to see anything on the west coast or inland right now, by the time it gets over to the east (later this evening) it'd be drizzle anyway

Quite a lively storm passed through earlier this afternoon across Croydon area, here's a quick clip of CG lightning from the storm clearing earlier, excuse the noise of my son in the background.

And a few stills:
