Being told to lettuce off is hardly offensive, so no worries from this end!

Maybe he said he didn't like the met office :p

I believe that the main reason my account is suspended is because of the thread that I made

Maybe he said he didn't like the met office :p

I liked their predictions, just not the fact that they were wrong :D

Or maybe he started attacking professional forecasters for no real reasons?  Of course, no one would ever do that.

This is true, there are always reasons as to why the Met Office are normally so right.   :p

Back from the cinema, met a couple from Canvey Island that had decided to go there as the whole of Canvey Island had been cut off by flood water. Quite a day and easily the most severe storm I've seen in a long while, screw imports, this monster simply developed on top of my head.

That's it until Friday when the airmass over the UK will destabilise which will allow more thunderstorms to break out.

Saw the footage of the flooding! In total contrast, a nice day in NW London, not a drop of rain! Dark clouds over to the east have been there for the past 8 hours!

Pimms?

Had our first proper storm of the plume event today, and it was a cracker!

Line of storms developed four miles to the West of here and just stayed put.

Lots of fork lightning and loud thunder for an hour. :yahoo:

Hello everyone,

Humidity is disgusting! lol.

Lovely to be back on the forum, Stealing my neighbour's wi fi (with their permission of course).

The coming week looks hot again. Nice if you like it. I don't actually. Too much for me, but enjoy if you do x

Still waiting for this plume to deliver anything other than distant lightning and some muted rumbles of thunder.....

Apart from Sat evening when we could see lightning on the coast, there has been nothing apart from a bit of rain. Rather IMBY-ish yes, but 30-40 miles away doesn't really cut it now, does it?

Mostly sunny and already very warm in Essex. Heard there was some bad flash flooding around here yesterday but no real signs of it this morning

Unexpected shower near Croydon, wondering whether to get the washing in, or will pass quickly?

Certainly some rather large cumulus around here as well, maybe an isolated shower/storm later?

So to sum up last 3 days ...

Thursday - Forecasted nada had possibly the best storm in these parts for nigh on 10 years

Friday - Forecasted the 'humdinger' and despite early evening promise fizzled out to nothing

Sunday - Forecasted as the 'day of rest' and had a crackin little storm mid afternoon

Who would be a forecaster?
