Morning all

Had an early night (for me anyway) once the storm passed, took advantage of the storm cooling it down a bit so made it a bit better for sleeping.

Wall to wall cloud here and light rain most of the morning here, but it remains warm, 21oC in the shed right now.

Was a very disappointing night. Got about half an hour of fairly frequent lighting but nothing in the way of thunder or anything else, even rain. Thursday night/Friday morning was FAR better for my location. All the stuff last night passed to the west and east of us. The home grown clump that started in Braintree just to the south of me pushed too far east. Would have loved to of been in Kent last night. They had a treat.

Even though the weather forecast for my area says thunder/lighting this afternoon, I find that hard to believe. It's possible, but anything we do get would be very tame I think.

Great night for some, very disappointing for others.

Absolutely amazing again last night. Kicked off about 8.30pm with incredible flashes every 4 or 5 seconds for well over an hour. Took my eldest boy out storm chasing until 10pm with it still going strong. Nothing of note for years and then two in two nights!! Very happy chaser here. Hope more to come but I can't grumble on two successive events that will stay in my memory for years!!

The pic is the front just approaching. Couldn't get any lightning pics because my digital slr had a flat battery, typical!

Incredible storms last night here in North Kent.  Started off with almost constant lightening from about half 8 through till about 10.  Come 3.45am the most almighty thunderclap and lightening flash I have ever heard, it hit a house less than half a mile away taking out their roof and all of the upstairs, luckily no-one was hurt.Been heavy drizzle and overcast this morning, but brightening up now.

The sun's been out for 10 mins, now disappeared behind more dross from the south. Please keep it to yourselves - it's bad enough not actually seeing anything over the past 72hrs without getting your leftovers  :nonono:

Heathrow is cancelling 20% of flights between 4pm and 6pm today due to the likelihood of lightning causing disruption.

Storms to the west of me, storms to the East of me, stuck in the middle with nowt.

Sums my night up too. East Anglia has been really hard done by for the most part. Storms keep passing just to the east of me.

And very quickly the clouds have parted, the rain stopped and the sun has come out, temps rattling up quickly too, already passed 23oC in the shed.

radar wise its going west, and the main risk area is well, storm free. Hopefully we just need to wait for some development.

Given up on storms in my location to be honest. Very unlikely.

Just been so unlucky last night and today.
