And we have lift off. Whole south sky lit up just then and a nice long rumble. Great fun referring back to the radar after the few seconds delay and seeing it.

Passed just to the right so I'm getting lightning but no thunder.

My bed feels like I've just thrown a bucket of water all over it, absoutley pouring off of me it's that hot here!

Radar has one strike over here but I didn't see or hear anything. The one from Braintree thankfully went straight up north, second night in a row we've been so close and just managing to avoid it. Still early days of more forming and coming through us though so not going to get too happy just yet.

Just has some heavy rain with the odd distant bit of thunder and lightning. Getting light now so any lightning not so impressive. Think we have 2 very large lumps coming our way from France.

Wow, it's like the good old days. More building over France too.

Woke up from short nap to hear thunder, and to see some super anvil crawlers in a pink sky. Lots of flashing for a short while! Decided to film out the windows so will have to sort through and take captures. Amazing thunder, really heavy and long rumbles, reminds me of 80s storms. Now dying out though still the odd rumble and flash, rain, but not heavy. Preparing for the next batch?

Eased off here now. The most electrified storm is currently sitting off the Suffolk coast. I suspect my family in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth will get a wake up call very soon.

Pfft, 3 rumbles of thunder and one CC? You ARE joking??? Now we have to wait for all this murk to clear off, yet again.

There's more stuff coming out of France which I really want to see head Midlands bound. Need to get a good clearance in the sky to build the heat and some surface based storms. Currently just cloudy.

Thunders been incredibly loud.

Been a decent bit of rain heavy on and off.

Sky is still murky but at least it's not black.

Wind is not a problem at all phew.

I've got to be up at 8:30 for a 10 hour day and I've had 1 hour sleep so far :(

Just seen the Beeb forecast for East Anglia - not good. And I mean that in as in not good if you were expecting anything "interesting". Still, it's the Beeb....

3 rumbles?  2 1 more than me.

lets see if CS is right and a clearance allows homegrown storms rather than these imports that can't cross the Suffolk border

As far as the forecast is concerned, never mind, what will be will be.  It's all been further East than forecast even though the models said West, West, West

Yep, it always is further east these days, I'm surprised anything managed to limp along the coast rather than heading off to Benelux etc.

Hmm we had rain overnight and I have no idea if there was any thunder or lightning activity as I was fast asleep. I suspect not because I would have woken..

Would like to see what is going on on the radar but currently netweather radar isn't showing a thing on my iPhone.. Ie looks like we have clear skies all the way so don't know what the fuss and warnings are about! ;) ... Anyone else have the same issue?

Cannot believe how that MCS in the North Sea is maintaining - if that had actually tracked where it was allegedly supposed to we'd have been under the cosh for almost 3hrs. Not sure what it will take for this area to actually get something halfway decent :(
