Interested as to why a location such as mine (Gravesend, Kent) is often recording higher temperatures than more populated and built up areas such as central London? Particularly during a west or south westerly wind. Some say it's due to the type of soil being sandy over the north downs? I've always thought it's because of all the curries cooking lol

Frenchie was a classic on here  ... "Its coming! ... I t s  C o m i n g!!! ... ITS COMING!!!!!!!!!! .... its gone"

Pretty exciting potential for us! Going to take a few more runs before it firms up, and then I imagine it'll go to nowcasting, that much instability is bonkers! - not counting my chickens yet (Anyone remember 'Frenchie' from a couple of years ago?!') but then we had a great delivery from a plume last year from what I recall. My night-lightning pics from the US weren't as good this year, so I'm hoping to make up for them at the weekend......

Were you wearing flip flops?

Humidity 48%

Humidex 32.4c

Dewpoint 16.4c

pressure falling!

Sunny!

I have a few pairs, but to walk to school I wear trainers

Do you have 3 arms or something? Why would that attire get odd looks?

Well  *a_hem* the shorts are a little short for a 40+ woman i feel, but i'm so hot. I usually just wear'em in the house and stuff, but I couldn't be bothered to change. They aren't tarty mind, just shorter than my jeans shorts.

Nothing wrong with short shorts! :cc_confused: :cc_confused:  Breeze picked up here and the cloud has increased. The temp has dropped from 30.4c to 28c!

Yes it is quite hot this afternoon, but i have experienced much hotter here to be honest.  It's not actually that uncomfortable ... and i am in central London and wearing long trousers :)

bit disappointing with the sunshine levels today.  Central London has had more cloud on and off than i was expecting and Northampton even more so.  I think this will have pegged the temps down a bit too.  they are forecasting a sunnier afternoon tomorrow so i hope that comes to fruition.

Sweltering hot in Essex, not a lot of cloud here so close to unbroken sunshine. Not a great day to have 200 miles of driving to do!

Seems to be bored of his own forecasts! Which is a shame!

i find it hard to watch them to be honest.  He sometimes seems on the verge of being incoherent at times and i remember him back in the 80's so hard to watch him these days.
