While this summer hasn't been totally dreadful it is not been particularly memorable either, especially with the lack of sunny days in the east midlands.  Most days have been predominantly cloudy and i don't think i have yet seen one day when we have had continuous sunshine.

Firstly I will say I am a total amateur when it comes to weather, my forecasting ability is limited to cloud watching and peaking at the radar and yes, largely I end up in the no storms thread, but i find  the fun of these events is the anticipation of what will happen and some seem to be dampening this before the event is actually here. I am fully aware that things will change, and i fully aware that my 80% of storm means nothing but what a computer thinks, but hey..

Please don't complain about the likes of us having a bit of fun because we are getting a bit excited, cheers.

We are all passionate about the weather or we wouldn't be here.

Not the best place to be in a thunderstorm! At least you weren't playing golf and holding a metal golf thingy(stick) at the time!

Mostly cloudy here today, which I suppose has suppressed the temps a bit. As I said yesterday I'm a fan of all weather types and like extreme as long as it doesn't impact lives.... The only extreme weather I hate is wind. I call it the invisible killer.

Have all the windows open at home at the moment, so hopefully will cool down all the room..... Especially the bedrooms

So, looks like at the moment that the best chances for anything will be to the West... However, over the next day or two, I think (and hope) we may well see an Eastward shift in the potential.

Tomorrow and Thursday's models will be very important to see what will happen.

Evening, had a lot of cloud here for most of the day with some sunny intervals. Warm at 23C, still at that temperature now. London reached 26C today which was a touch higher than expected.

Personally I want that plume to stay in place or back west, hopefully build as much energy as possible for some home grown storms or maybe a mothership from France :)
