The rain has finally stop here about an hour ago. Don't think it will be a close / humid night here tonight. With all this rain, the gnats etc are coming out in their millions :-)

Rain never made it here. On the edge of the cloud band all day, so the morning was quite cool but as the sun moved around into the clear skies to the west it felt much warmer. High of 22C, clear skies now.

Saturday still looking good for a bit of warmth

Storm potential looks pretty good too

Worth noting that their are some elevated storms kicking around in the north sea at the moment, some places might get lucky tonight.

goodnight  :lazy:

Very heavy/torrential rain this morning passed over just after 7am. It was so heavy the gutters overflowed and it sounded like the wind was blowing but mostly it was the sound of rain. Heaviest rain we have had in a long time. Currently grey and 15c. Waiting for the heat to arrive! Still hoping for a bit of thundery activity over the weekend...

Such a contrast over the region over the past 24 hours, I drive a lot for work and over the past day I've been over and back between west London and Suffolk a few times. Clear throughout in west London with plenty of sunshine and barely a drop off rain, as soon as I get to east London the rain starts and by the time I've gone east of the M25 there's surface water everywhere with over 24 hours of persistent rain. Further east towards Ipswich and it's hardly rained again

Miserable weather but interesting in its own way

From the Met Office Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday, cloud and locally heavy, and perhaps thundery, showery rain moving eastwards, with brighter conditions following. Thereafter, some rain or showers, but often fine and warm in south and east.

Updated: 0327 on Fri 11 Jul 2014

The BBC has thunder for London on Sunday. So it should be sunny then!

16.4c in south west London now.Dull and dry.

May get some drizzle later to add some excitement to a day that was,

according the bbc/met a few days ago ,going to be 24c with sunny spells

and 'big' showers as they call it.

Very poor forecasting, very poor!

Yeah. Supposed to be an improving picture here. An hour ago we had the heaviest rain of the day.

Now just "meh".

I'm surprised at how chilly it is. Wearing a jumper for the first time in ages.

14!!! That is a big difference from here! My night time temps were up and down like a yoyo , but weren't far off 14c! That's more of an October temp you have today!

Afternoon all

After a very wet start with heavy rain this morning that made driving a bit of a mare it has returned to the dry, warm and sunny conditions that have graced this area of late, online temp-o-rama widget tells me it is 21oC, must get the outdoor sensor here up and running again (have batteries now).

One more day of work to go then a week off (not going anywhere, but it gives me a chance to rest up and do some of those jobs that never get done after a day at work).
