In Manchester with work tonight and some great convection going up all around.  Thought I heard some thunder about 45 mins ago (ish) but not sure.  Skies looking quite angry but not sure if there is going to be a "proper" storm here yet.  Muggy feel in the air though..

Big loud crack of thunder here in Manchester (East) now.  The storm must be building somewhere as on Raintoday I can't really see anything other than light rain over this location...

Couple of rumbles. In a frustrating position here though. 1 cell has just gone to the west and 1 is slipping to the south and east. Keeping my eye on that lot towards Worcester. Hope it keeps building as it moves NNE.

Nothing but moderate rain here, strikes all around this cell except for the core itself.

Quickie from me, for those of you with an android device go to google play and get the Blitzortung lightning detector. Marvelous little app, I love it, gets addictive. It updates every 60 seconds.

A few cells to the SW looking likely to head to the west of Derby, missing the centre by a hairs width. I may head a few miles west, traffic depending, and try and catch one.

Probably follow a very similar path to yesterdays cells, hit Chesterfield, then swing just west of me.

What could be the last shower of the day (or maybe for a while) coming through now cloud looked good as it came in got to say. Couldn't find my camera though DOH!

It's done it again! That shower crept north and it's produced a strike (only by a few miles too)! Doh!
