Ok sleep time, my gf is stirring in her sleep cause I keep moving and itching. I'm always bloody itching when lying down in bed!

I'm glad people are getting a good storm that's worth seeing! I now know storms can break out under high pressure so will keep an open mind with this kind of setup again. Definitely a learning curve, Damn itches!

I hope the storms will be prolonged for those getting a decent show! Some video would be nice on frequent lightning. NN all!

The stuff to the north of me has started to produce lightning, a strike just in Northampton, I'm hoping as the area moves down it should move directly over me. Still alot of flashes to the northwest of me too coming from Buckingham way.

My location says presently Exmoor but I'm back home sweet home in Bucks for a week. Just east of High Wycombe. Just seen a few small flashes to the west and some quiet growls of thunder. Wondering whether to get in the car and floor it west.

I've just driven 4 n half hours from bloody North Devon to Bucks now the Gods wants me to head back west....You can't win.

I've had some show here with a few close ones. However those to the W-SW of me, I guess Reading way are getting it really good (or bad)!

Of course as I type this a massive flash and immediate thunder ensues :-)

Just when I thought it was over, an almighty crack of thunder with accompanying overhead lightning corrects my error...

Stuff to my north seems to be intensifying and have seen a few flickers of lightning towards Northampton, and can still see lightning out west towards Buckingham. Not been able to hear any thunder for a while though now, so I'm guessing what I heard earlier a way off were possibly positive strikes as the thunder was deep, explosive sounding and lasted quite a long time.

It is good but I wish the Bloody high speed ferry with its flashing light would bugger off back to Southampton. It's spoiling my storm porn !!!!!!. It  looks to be getting closer

Managed to get a few pictures of some lightning here in Aylesbury :)

Excellent I saw it too, it looks like there is more moving down shortly, I just saw a big strike a few moments ago.

It looks as though the rain might just go to the west of me, just when I thought I was actually going to see a proper storm this year... :(

The storm further south seems to be dying down now. I can still see flashes coming from MK/Northampton way and also from Buckingham which is to the northwest of me. It seems the back edge is producing.

Sure it's not the stuff around Bicester you can see that's electrified. Stuff to the north of MK seems to have died again electrically, not seen a single flicker in quite a while. However the wind here has picked up and the cloud base is lowering. Hopefully something will fire off, but I have this feeling even though radar returns look good all we may see is some moderate rainfall.  :wallbash:

Oh heavy raindrops falling now, please go flashy flashy bang bang!!!!! lol

Wondering whether to drive west or if it'd be waste of time. All I can say is I'm seeing loads of little flashes to the south-west of here.

Lightning is a lot more visible here now (to my SW - it seems to be intensifying) and the clouds look more menacing now (to my NW) but that may just be outflow from the anvil tops.

Yeah you could be right, I thought I saw a flash towards MK way a while back but nothing since. It looks like I'm in for the same rainfall you're gonna get lol.

I can't complain because although I only had a few flashes overhead it's been an amazing show to the west and southwest of me since 11pm, 2 hours of unexpected joy lol.

Absolutely hammering it down with rain now, 20p sized droplets, can't believe there is no thunder so far with it, unless it's still building  :wallbash:
