Couple of rumbles and a lot of flashes high up. Seems to have moved away now. Is there another cell heading this way?

Keep looking out, it sounds like a high-level storm so keep your eyes peeled!

I won't be surprised to have a rumble or 2 our way at some point tonight it looks a bit like it could. It's still warm and muggy here so plenty of moisture around I guess.

It will have to wake me up though gotta get sleep as I'm up at 6am tomorrow for work. I was already tired today!

Edit: new strike appears to the southeast of me on radar, did I hear a very distant rumble whilst typing the previous part? I dismissed it tbh.

Heavy rain here again. Looking at the radar, a lot of stuff has either popped up, or has identified in Southern England in the past half an hour. Even the rain heading towards the wash really gained strength.

Storms across the channel seem almost a daily occurence during the summer months (admitedly not usually the size of today's UFO)

Good thing I'm off to France in 5 weeks time for a two week holiday:D - driving back last time, we encountered an MCS just south of Paris. It too resembled a UFO with the most ridiculous shelf cloud I've ever seen. Im convinced I will NEVER anything like that here.

I think me and my friends are going to pick a random saturday in July/August and drive over to the continent. If we see something, we see something, if we dont, it will be a lovely road trip and day out:)

So much better than waiting for the outside chance of possibly seeing what may or not be lightning about 30 miles away :D

Amazing to see yet more storms exploding across N France, it's like a conveyor belt lol, just crazy. Very depressing how they all miss us, yet again.
