Rapidly rising motion on the back edge or inflow area of the storms, with rotation further to the left without a doubt super cellular. Very nice video  :yahoo:

Agreed, thats a lovely example of inflow on that beast, even at normal speed you can clearly see moisture condensing and getting sucked in, great vid  :)

    ??

I think there is doubt over your temperature reading. Nowhere much above 24C at the moment in an official location.

Allegedly so! No need to take my word for it however!

26c London the current highest UK reading.

29 degrees showing here in Peterborough, I can confirm its unpleasantly sticky

That's probably a heat index or even humidex figure. Edited by Mapantz

Just fired up the computer, and a quick peek at the charts gave me wide eyes!

In my post yesterday I mentioned a volatile situation developing over France, BeNeLux and nortern Germany. I would like to change that to highly explosive. The so called "loaded gun" is about to be fired by the current passage of a very pronounced short wave trough over the BeNeLux which in turn initiates the formation of a surface low that can quickly erode the CAP. The rapid formation of supercells and clustering into a massive MCS will be the result, with us maybe witnessing a rare phenomenon here in Europe, the "cold ring shape", visible on IR Satpic as a round area of very cold cloudtop surrounding the warmer dome shaped and pulsating updraft area. Massive hail expected, making the current action there harmless in comparison.

Destabilisation further westwards is very probable, the SE UK can definitely expect some action later on. (see Estofex &co) Widespread conclusiveness..

What still gives me thought is that due to the public holiday in these places many peeps will be travelling or out in the open and get caught unawares :unknw:

    Ralph

So I can still hope for something?

Potential Wall cloud from my amateur perspective, indicative of rotation/possible meso.

Don't anyone ever suggest the east (and by that I mean the proper East) gets all the storms. Surely I can do better than 3 rumbles of thunder? Mind you that's about 100% improvement on this time last year so things are improving :D
