Beautiful rainfall radar on that storm, and looks like there could be some serious straight line SW winds on that SE end:

Textbook bow/comma echo as well:

We are too far west/close to the Atlantic for real storms/real snow, we always get very minor compared to USA/europe etc countries like that laugh in the face at UK's pathetic snow, storms

Sorry but that's not always true. Maybe true for the last decade or so but we used to get a good deal of disruptive weather at any time of the year. For some reason severe storms have avoided the UK in recent years.

I was just going to post the same. Its ripe territory after today, and IIRC, that was the convergence target for the evening.

Some of the strike count figures are also phenomenal.

Give it time and it'll rival that cell in Germany. You heard it here first

Mentioned earlier, but ESTOFEX have issued a mesoscale discussion, highlighting the potential threats of this storm, and the fact that it is likely to last for a few hours longer!

Mesoscale DiscussionValid: Mon 09 Jun 2014 20:00 to Mon 09 Jun 2014 23:00 UTCIssued: Mon 09 Jun 2014 20:02Forecaster: GROENEMEIJER / PUCIK

An ongoing bow echo with a history of producing extreme severe wind gusts (>32 m/s) and likely an embedded supercell structure continues to move NEward across W Germany. 10-15 m/s low-level shear ahead of the system and low LCL heights suggest that the system will continue to harbour a risk of embedded - possibly strong - tornadoes in addition to the severe wind threat. The system will likely continue for at least several hours as the airmass ahead remains very unstable per sfc obs and NWP guidance.

Ha ha, off topic.

That should just skim to my west but nothing thundery on it. Would be great if I could make it 6 storms in one day.

Its come from exactly the same area that spawned your supercell from this morning.

Is it just me, or is that storm in Germany slowing down a bit?
